According to initial reports, Seven persons including two security personnel were killed when a suicide bomber targeted Sindh High Court judge Justice Maqbool Baqar’s squad at Burns Road.
The suicide bomber rammed his vehicle into Justce Maqbool’s car, causing him serious injuries while nine others were killed including two cops of his squad.
The sources told that the SHC judge is being transferred to a private hospital while other injured were shifted to Civil Hospital. It was also revealed that Justice Maqbool Baqar had been receiving death threats.
Due to the blast, a motorcycle and a police van were completely destroyed while a near by building and mosque were also damaged.
Rescue and security personnel reached the spot immediately after the explosion while Rangers cordoned off the area.
The area is of high importance due to the presence of Chief Minister House and Sindh Assembly and High Court.
